Week of July 22nd, 2019

  1. Rehearsals and leadership meetings for this Tuesday and Thursday have been cancelled- rehearsals will resume on Monday, July 29th (band camp).

  2. Percussion camp will occur Monday-Friday this week from 10:00am-2:00pm (10:00am-12:00pm on Friday).

  3. We need show shirts for our 2019 season! Please submit ideas for our 2019 show shirt and submit to Mr. Vazquez by 7/28. The winner will not have to pay for a shirt this year. Show shirt should include: Show title, Band/School Name, Competition Dates.

  4. Band camp is around the corner! Band camp will be 8:00-4:00pm from July 29th-August 2nd. Students should see the attached daily schedule.

  5. New this year: In lieu of a pizza party at the end of camp, Amy and Steve Rogers have graciously offered to host a band family potluck at their home (6100 Dearfield Dr. Coal City, IL) on August 2nd at 4:30pm. Bring a dish to pass (sign up here - https://www.PerfectPotluck.com/YTMF7364 with code Zorro), lawn chairs, swimsuits (lake swimming), towels, and bug spray. All band members AND their families are invited!

  6. Please read the attached document on uniform parts that every student will need.

  7. New this year: On Sunday, August 4th we will be performing at the Wilmington Art Walk. Students should meet at 110 s. Third St. in Wilmington, Illinois at 3:00pm on August 4th. Please contact Mr. Vazquez ASAP with conflicts.

Week of July 15th, 2019

  1. All students in marching band will rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday this week from 7:00pm-9:00pm. If you have any rehearsal conflicts please contact Mr. Vazquez.

Week of June 10th, 2019

  1. All students in the marching will have rehearsal Tuesday and Thursday this week from 7:00pm-9:00pm. If you have any rehearsal conflicts please let Mr. Vazquez know.

  2. We will be using lyres and flip folders for all marching band rehearsals. If you need help figuring out which lyre to purchase contact Mr. Vazquez or ask your section leader.

  3. Here is the itinerary for the Carbon Hill Parade on June 23rd. Let Mr. Vazquez know of any conflicts.

  4. Reminder: Section leaders are required to schedule 3 one hour sectionals sometime from now until band camp. Remember to also send Mr. Vazquez a recording of a run through toward the end of your sectional.

  5. We are in need of parent volunteers to pass out water/snacks and to drive the trailer on the day of the parade. Please let Mr. Vazquez know if you are available. Thank you!
